RI-CSE Professional Development
A CS Proficiency COURSE for All
CS4RI has developed a Computer Science proficiency curriculum, RI-Computer Science Exploration (RI-CSE), that meets the RI CS proficiency requirement in a fun, engaging way and is appropriate for all students, grades 6-12.
There are four RI-CSE PD sessions planned for teachers in summer 2024 (below). RIDE is providing RI-CSE PD grants to LEAs for teacher PD stipends for these sessions. The grant allows for a $500 stipend for teachers who attend a three-day session.

Next Steps…
Teachers New To CS:
Interest form due May 10th
Teachers interested in the 3-day summer PD sessions should complete the interest form. Please note this is for teachers new to CS with no previous training in foundational computer science instruction.
LEA Administrators:
Grant application due May 10th
LEA administrators should complete the 2024 RI-CSE PD grant application to request stipend funding. As space/funding is limited, RIDE may not be able to accommodate the total number of teachers for which an LEA applies.
ICDS and/or CS Endorsed Teachers:
If you are a teacher that is not new to CS and/or have taught ICDS before, please review the self-paced RI-CSE PD module designed just for you!
