RIDE is pleased to announce that the new Computer Science for Rhode Island (CS4RI) High School Grant is now accepting applications. CS4RI High School Grants will provide funding to 20 Rhode Island high schools to establish computer science pathways and study the impact of work-based learning on students’ AP computer science scores. The program is funded through a $2.5M grant that RIDE was awarded from the US Department of the Education in the fall.
Benefits for high schools that win a CS4RI High School Grant include:
$20,000 to establish or improve computer science teaching facilities
Free professional development and stipends for high school teachers
Potential for students to earn 12 college credits upon completion of 3 course sequence
RIDE coordination of WBL project for your school
Support in developing a computer science course sequence aligned to CTE, Pathway Endorsement, and ESSA Report Card requirements
