Cyber ConnectED

Cyber ConnectED: Computer Science and Cybersecurity for the Internet of Things World for Middle School Teachers

Organization: East Bay Educational Collaborative with Aecern LLC

Description: We have a rapidly growing dependence on all things Cyber, which brings with it new and significant security risks to our people, communities, and jobs. Cyber ConnectED is a 6-unit CS4RI standards-aligned problem-solving-based learning experience that blends real-world problems with basic electronics and physics understanding for grades 6-12. Teachers taking this PD course will receive a CS STEM kit to learn how to prototype and program loT devices to work and then how insecure practices with IoT have created cyber concerns across all industries. By the end of this course, you will know how to build, program, and design IoT devices, how to teach best practices for securing them, and how to design your own Cyber ConnectED challenges using free virtual software and easy-to-source hardware.  While details are still being finalized, please complete this Google Interest Form to select dates you're available for the 2 days of PD and express interest.
